2015 has proven to be Ronny’s biggest year yet with sold out festival shows, invites to overseas festivals and numerous television appearances. This follows sold out 2014 comedy festival shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, the multi-award winning Chieng also took his smash hit solo show Chieng Reaction around the country, and also released his debut Live comedy album, The Ron Way which also received a 2014 ARIA Award nomination for Best Comedy Release. He supported international acts Dave Chappelle Bob Saget and Mike Epps, and kept the Triple J Drive seat warm for the Doctor. Chieng also added to his growing list of TV credits including season 2 of SBS’s Legally Brown and ABC’s It’s A Date, This is Littleton and Have You Been Paying Attention?.

In 2014 Chieng added two more awards to his vast collection – the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Directors’ Choice award, as well as the Sydney Comedy Festival’s Best Show. He was also nominated for a prestigious Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performer.

In just four years the Malaysian-born Chinese comedian has jettisoned from his first ever gig in a small room at Melbourne Uni, to shows at the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Town Hall, London’s SOHO Theatre, Montreal’s Just for Laughs TV Gala. He has sold out solo shows in Singapore and Malaysia, as well as toured Asia, and most recently India, as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow.
